JESSA TIMMER, Executive Director

Jessa recently moved to Seattle from Grand Rapids, Michigan. She comes to us with a deep understanding of Business Improvement Area creation and management and has extensive knowledge in events and promotions for commercial corridors. Most recently working for the State of Michigan’s Main Street Program, she gained first-hand experience in organizational capacity building and non-profit technical assistance in multiple communities. She has a Masters of Public and Non Profit Administration in Urban and Regional Policy and Planning from Grand Valley State University. Jessa is passionate about retaining the historic identity of the Chinatown-International District while improving and promoting the area for the benefit of all stakeholders.


MONISHA SINGH, Marketing & Communications Director

Monisha joins the CIDBIA with 7 years of experience managing events at Westlake Center, namely the Westlake Center Tree Lighting Celebration. In addition to event production and management, Monisha brings with her experience in property management, operations, marketing, and retail leasing. Monisha is excited to be managing existing and new events and public realm programs in the Chinatown-International District to facilitate economic growth and awareness about the neighborhood, while maintaining the core identity of the district. Monisha has a BA in Communication from the University of Washington.


MONICA LY, Program Coordinator
Monica has been involved in the neighborhood for years and is excited to join the BIA.  Monica is in charge of administrative support, neighborhood events, sanitation, public safety, and outreach. She started interning for the neighborhood in June 2014 and has been a drill girl in the Seattle Chinese Community Girls Drill Team since 2004, she now volunteers her time to help the team as well as other community groups.
